I am not saying that it was a good thing. I am saying that Hollywood completely exaggerated it.
Most Inqusitors are there only as lawyers and attorneys. The punishment is solely under the jurisdiction of the crown.
To start with, the point of Inquisitors is not to hunt witches but to hunt jews pretending to be Christians to obtain government roles and endanger both the Spanish people and the crown.
