No. Line would be pointless, but Vanguard would still work on a Support X unit, because Vanguard works by pushing people off objectives, while Support simply restricts your VP from the objectives themselves.
Tyrants are Support 1, which would cancel Line 1. But would benefit from Vanguard 1 if they charge up the hill
