apparently WW2 took even the Germans by surprise - they had viewed Hitler more like Trump, i.e. a guy who will make Germany great again but without succumbing to war because a next WW would obviously bring destruction, and that's not how you make a nation great. i'm talking about the average people, the voters
they even cherished Anschluss and the stuff with Czechoslovakia in 1938 because that was all accomplished without firing a single shot

and then through August 1939 they were bombarded with the kind of propaganda that made them nervous, and on 1 September 1939 they were really caught by surprise by the announced Invasion of Poland, even though it was branded as a defensive act, since the news of the war meant the war economy that was already kickstarted replete with price controls, rationing & food cards was going to last for years longer

digging deep into the info from the events as they unfolded paints the picture that the Germans were basically scammed just like Americans with Trump promising peace, and then bombing Iran. of course after France was conquered in 6 weeks the Germans fell for warmongering enthusiasm hook, line and sinker, but I'd too. it's kinda creepy when you think about all of it, I mean, when the Germans voted for NSDAP in 1932 and 1933, they definitely didn't vote for THIS (pic related)

Was Nazism a (((psyop))) meant to turn Germany into rubble with WW2, since they stopped short of doing that in WW1? Think about it. From their perspective it was Germany that started WW1 and it basically got out unscathed through the turmoil, as far as the immaterial cultural capital goes. In hindsight, the destruction of Germany in WW2 as a place and as a nation, and the completion of the plan to turn it into a hapless Western-owned economic zone, was kinda like a belayed revenge for WW1, and Nazism ensured the first strike came from Germany again allowing the revenge to be carried out with the Allied hands clean
