Yeah I knew about Brenda Cook from that Game Facts video from a couple months ago. She sounds like a hack. Yasushi Yamaguchi, Tails' creator, said he came up with the name "Miles Prower", and I'll believe him. This sounds like that Madeline Schroeder fiasco where she claimed she was responsible for removing Madonna and Sonic's band from Sonic 1 when Naka said Madonna was cut early on and Sonic's band didn't make it due to time constraints and basically SoA had nothing to do with anything. In these cases I take the word of the actual developers/creators not some SoA fuckos
I remember Naka saying that the name "Tails" came from an ABC director or something, since SatAM was being developed as a tie in for Sonic 2 and was going to air on ABC. While "Miles" seemed like the preferred name in Japanese material, "Tails" was also used interchangeably up until Adventure when it was his "main name". Heck Tails is even in the Sonic 2 JP cover. I think the last time he was refered as "Miles" was in the Japanese version of Pocket Adventure
As for Al Nilsen and his monotail thing, that makes zero sense because "mono" means one. And Tails, surprise, has two tails. Kind of a big oversight if you ask me
>apparently Judy Totoya wanted to call him Miles Power. But the Americans didn't like it so he changed it (back?) to Prower.
That's weird, but I guess it has to do with the Japanese pronunciation of "Per Hour" (Pa awā/Pawā) and then it was retranslated into English as Power, even though it would make more sense as "Prower" (Americans pronounce the "r" at the end of syllables, the Japanese pronounce as a long vowel)
