If you’re debating it, no. I only really got one because I’m in a financial position where I can waste a bit of money on a nicer, but redundant controller. I could absolutely get away with just using the old one if I wanted to, and I don’t think a lot of people will really notice or care the difference unless they’re autists like me (and I’m assuming you).

If you’re really on the fence I’d say save up and grab it with a game you’re excited for later down the line. The thing that convinced me to get one was playing DK Bananza with it at a demo kiosk while I was shopping at Target the other day.

I think they’re afraid of leaks, honestly. Nintendo doesn’t really put out downloadable demos anymore and I’m fairly confident that it’s to prevent datamining.

The demo itself was fantastic from what I played. I’m very excited to learn the movement combos.

Absolutely. One of the coolest things about the game, besides the movement, was the UI. Everything is incredibly punchy, even when just walking around in the game. I wasn’t too impressed with Odyssey’s UI, so this was a massive improvement for me.
