>Explained at the end of the story just so people 100% understand Chara isn't responsible for the genocide run in Undertale.
With how much power Kris has to resist the player, it was both Frisk and the player who were equally responsible for Genocide. Chara was just an opportunist who swept in at the last moment to steal your hard-won gains.

>Of course, they'll deny the claims even though I'm pretty sure Earm is Kris' horn.
I'm pretty sure you're wrong about that - those horns go on Kris's head, yeah, and you walk underneath them into the darkness...where you find the Shelter Key. Except the Shelter Key isn't a physical object, is it? It's a code, meaning it's information. You just went underneath Kris's red horn headband, to a place where you found an important piece of information. ERAM isn't Kris's horns, IT'S LITERALLY HIDING INSIDE KRIS'S HEAD. Rent-free.
On a different subject, specifically about protagonists who are morally grey, I really like Doctor Megalo's take on Frisk. It asks the question "what kind of kid would go along with either befriending or brutally murdering everyone while lying about their name" and I think the answer to that is really interesting.
