Millennials have always been doing about as well as earlier generations. They just whined more. Gen Z however are indeed fucked as immigration and the pandemic money printer era put home ownership out of their grasp. The only Millennials who got fucked were slackers that goofed around while their peers got serious about starting life.

There are two types of people who want homes:
Those who are angry boomers got a better deal and think whining about it will magically cause them to get the same deal as the boomers. They waste their lives whining.
Those who understand that they'll never get the same deal the boomers did so they make choices and compromises in order to get what they want. Maybe not 100% of what they want, but far better than 0% of it.
Though this image is pre-pandemic, for Millennials that's not relevant as they've long been in the age range for house buying. Those who wanted to make it work found ways to make it work. Those who wanted to whine, imaging that the government or magic would make their dreams come true, never found a way to get what they want.
Boomers got a better deal than any generation before or after them. That's nice for them, sucky for everyone else, but no amount of whining will change reality and cause a house to magically appear with your name on the deed.
