For Boomers maybe, but 9/11 wasn't even the first major terrorist attack in the US. Why didn't the Oklahoma City bombing have as big of an impact for example?
I'll tell you why, it's because that one was carried out by a domestic terrorist while 9/11 was carried out by Muslims, so it created a scapegoat and casus belli for a war that lasted 10 years too long.
