Well yeah I wouldn't want Bethesda themselves to touch it with a 50ft pole. They could outsource it but it would need the right kind of dev to respect the old games. But whomatter you pick from Obsidian to InXile to Larian, they'd probably fuck it up in some minor way too.

I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of a remaster over a remake that changes the core gameplay. Just give the old games HD assets and a tweaking of the gameplay mechanics. Wrap Doctor and First Aid into one skill, Make traps useful, make Agility not completely broken. Stuff like that.

Easy, Bethesda outsources it to inXile or something and we get a new isometric Fallout with good worldbuilding and writing, balanced stats, and good guns.

Fallout 5 is just Fallout 4 that's slightly nicer looking, has even less RPG elements and has the T-74 as it's cover.
