I really did like it and it depends on if you're a fan of the genre. Some people don't like the arena design, which I don't understand because that style is basically grandfathered into the genre it's so old now. There are still sections where you go from place to place with enemies in between, so nothing has been lost.
It is one of those games where you have to rebuild your arsenal between episodes, which is one thing I really don't like about classic 90's FPS throwbacks. I like having everything (for the most part) and being able to pick and choose for enemies rather than relying on a one and all encompassing solution. Also everything gets reset between levels in case you exit a level with 3 health, which can be annoying if you EXIT a level with 250/250 health and armor
I don't like that it's on Unreal Engine (and that's a warning in case your computer doesn't play well with UE4), as from a technical standpoint, the game will randomly stutter between sections for what feels like no reason. If you run around hallways in Doom or Duke and the game still feels buttery, you know what I mean
I'm a 40k """fan""" by proxy and played a lot of the games (my brother and best friend are big 40k guys but it feels too dense for me to get into and they have explained the deep lore of it over the years), but from a glance, everything LOOKS like 40k, but I couldn't tell you for certain if they nailed the aesthetic as I know some people can have favored different eras of 40k

2) The jokes are really really weak. I imagine it was funny when it was released, but man, it just doesn't work now.
I was gonna say you can't do a funny action game, but the original Shadow Warrior (not the shitty reboot) is quite funny, though I kinda prefer the tone of Duke 3D, where the stakes are high despite the little bits of humor sprinkled.
