Iona being a bitch to Hime because of her older sister was one of the most relatable parts of the first half of HaCha. Maybe assigning all of the blame to Hime to the point of refusing to work with her was unreasonable, but being unreasonable is understandable when siblings get involved.
It's a similar thing with Meroron refusing to work with Uta, who is trying to get close to Purirun and may steal her as far as Meroron is concerned. The thing is that Purirun isn't just her sister; she's the reason the universe itself exists, at least going by her 18 or so hour speech.
