Danuser's Shadowlands cosmology took control of Azeroth and Outland, pushing both the Horde and the exhausted Alliance out of canon. Danuser continued to write the canon his way, a despotic vision of pre-SL glory. The lore was ordered, puzzling, queer. Warcraft continued to be the sole place in the fantasy genre where stories were written and retconned in the blink of an eye.
