Most of the loudest voices whining about AI aren't making some principled stand — they're just bitter, obsolete NPCs screeching as they sink into irrelevance. Their entire value was being barely competent at regurgitating information, and now a machine does that better, faster, and with fewer tantrums. So they lash out like crabs in a bucket, dragging everyone else down with them, hoping if they can't use the tool, no one should. It’s not about ethics, it's about ego. Watching others outpace them with something they refuse to touch shatters their illusion of competence, so instead of adapting, they cope by screaming “slop” like it's a spell that can put the genie back in the bottle.

Their hostility is really just masked insecurity. If they were confident thinkers or creators, they'd wield AI like a weapon — but they can't, because they were never that smart to begin with. Their entire worth was built on being slightly above average in a world with fewer tools. Now, with AI democratizing insight and creativity, they're exposed for what they are: midwit gatekeepers desperate to hold the door shut while pretending they're standing on principle. They’d rather sabotage the future than admit they’ve been made obsolete.

They told you AI would destroy jobs, not your faith.
