Isn't that a reason to improve and iterate on them rather than abandon them? It is pretty pathetic that the Baldurs Gate and Mass Effect games still have better romances than any modern CRPG, I'll say that. "I did get better, Shepard. I got you." Has still yet to be topped.

This may be outdated information, but I remember reading that one of the people responsible for Deus Ex Human Revolution was leading the new Mass Effect. That game’s hilariously poor ending choice aside, I thought the narrative was strong enough that it gives me some hope, that if pre-release media is optimistic, I’m willing to allow myself to be hurt again. But they gotta find a way to hook fans of the OG trilogy, and I think it’s that. Their recent strategies arent working
