The insane normal people you used to use the internet to get away from have overtaken it. You can join private discords and communities that are more eccentric but their problems have a whole different book of issues. Rest well and don't take it too seriously, you're not the only one with these opinions. I truly do think it'll get better in a few years when gatekeeping becomes a standard requirement, it's happened in the 2000s already, where a certain forum required payment to enter and post. It happens on private spaces like discord and federated communities too. Anyone good at expression has to hide in DMs or become overwhelmed. As a result, the public chats are for the mentally unwell and ESLs talking in circles, brain drain on a massive scale.

I want to like rimworld but there are always five thousand little things that make me dislike the game when I pirate it to try it out every ~3 years or so. The trading autism, managing everyone's walking speed being extremely important, how it's about handling 3-5 people's mood swings with the same research tree every game with 50% of your gameplay being sitting and waiting for research.

It's so close to being good, maybe this time I'll try some mods in 6-12 months as they update.
