Not saying she wasn't counter-revolutionary, but she got the shit they gave her because they knew that they couldn't attack the actual executive power if they planned to ever get a foot in the door.
Her only fault was that she tried to do things to maintain the royal power that the Revolution was blowing up like the Bastille while her husband lived with his head up his arse and only lightly complained when somebody was literally spitting in his face and threatening to cut off his nose.
