8.0 will be the last expansion after it completely flips with Hiroi still writing it and absolutely nothing about th3 stale formulate, dead open world and homogenized job design being fixed. Maybe they'll announce 9.0 as the real end of the game, but it'll have massive budget cuts and so will have zero content, an MSQ with barely any voice acting, beat Tribe tier writing, and will also flip.
FFXIV will turn go into maintenance mode and the only people still playing will be the second life erping modbeasts from xivg.
