While I agree cars should be as light as possible we don't live in the same world we did 10/20/30 years ago. Modern suspension and tires can overcome the weight limits of old. Unless you're on a very tight track weight doesn't matter as much as it used to.

My first car was an 88 Supra Turbo I got in 2002. I thought it was the fastest car I'd ever drive but in retrospect that thing was a dog. Same with my VA WRXs. However in my mind anything with a sub 7 0-60 is still fast enough because that was the standard back then.

If you aren't full throttle 5,000 rpm by itself doesn't mean anything. 5k rpm in my car in first gear is going ~40mph. It's not like you're making full power at all times, its based on throttle input at a given point in the rev range.

To get this thread back on topic and arrow from musshole cars, how many people ITT actually have any experience with these cars let alone own one. Or own any car for that matter...
