Nothing particular is wrong with it if you can maintain it, other people can work on it without issues, and it doesn't cause performance problems for the user. It's just that this kind of coding style can lead to all of that happening way more commonly than if you did best practices instead. It's kind of been a pop myth that you can code like shit and have it be okay because a few big indies do it, but the difference is those indies code like shit for specific parts because "well, it works" versus coding an entire game like this because they don't know better.
