You can have a lipped Rex without it looking like a fucking labrador. By rights it wouldn't be fleshy flaps. It needs to double as sensory organs (because the arms sure can't), so it needs to be scaly and tough, kinda like a crocodile's integumentary sensory organs.

I love this model by Blue Rhino studios. It's already 6 years old but with every finding and paper we keep coming back to it
