Lord of the Mysteries is a genuinely good story with interesting worldbuilding and good character writing.
The major downside is that there's way too much slice of life and downtime in between all the really interesting parts of the plot.
Also don't ever bother reading the sequel it's trash.
One of the main characters love interests is a chinese reincaranted man who is in a woman's body.
