I’ve lost about 100lbs, started at 297, now hover around 200. Still cutting. Here’s what actually worked:
>Calculate your BMR and eat under it.
If you burn 2.5k calories/day and eat 2k consistently, the fat will melt off. Don’t guess and track intake.
>Pick a diet you can stick with long-term.
For me, it's mostly meat and whole foods: beef, eggs, fish, veggies. No processed garbage. That said, weight loss is still CICO (Calories In, Calories Out). If you really want cake, fit it into your daily calories and move on.
>Stop drinking your calories.
No juice, no full-sugar soda, no frappucinos. Water, sparkling water, black coffee, or diet soda if you're desperate.
>Try fasting.
Intermittent fasting or OMAD (one meal a day) can help if you’ve got no self-control. Skipping breakfast and lunch is a cheat code once you adapt.
This is 90% mindset. Hunger is temporary, cravings pass, and motivation is a lie, it’s about showing up when you don’t feel like it. I also didn't mention working out but it goes without saying that will help too.
