I always felt like Volume 2 chapter 1 was an easy, fun read for most of it when I read it.
The fight scenes are kind of stupid and people are right to point out that sensei is practically a nothing-character in its second half, but it still remains an enjoyable read as an intro to a lot of characters. I do agree when you start comparing other volumes to it, its flaws start to become magnified. But on its own it's not THAT bad.
