Vanilla submods: Long And Ardorous Road and The East is Red are worth playing and mog the vanilla updates so hard it's actually sad.
2WRW: Novosibirsk content is fully complete but I recommend waiting for the update on the 27th that irons out most of the bugs and gives Omsk a satisfying conclusion.
Russian warlords: Omsk, Amur, Chita, Sverldovsk, Budyachenko's Samara and Toboritsky Komi are all worth playing.
