You dont need to, it just makes target acquisition faster because of the fov. He's saying you can basically treat it like a red dot which is true. Here's a shitty out of focus picture that will give you an idea of what he's talking about. In real life you would be further back on the stock meaning you'd have less of the optic in view as well, it wont be as cramped as it looks in picrel.
