Kelly Gallen Geno and Naylor are all free agents at the end of the season. Corbin Burns and both backend bullpen pieces are out with TJ till atleast late 2026. Sneks would have to win at an almost .750 clip the rest of the season to get a WC spot which they have proved unable to do so far.
It would be irresponsible to not get some assets in return for these players. Naylor while productive this year is not worth a ton as a 2 month rental and didn't have a bidding war attached to him that Geno does.
Hoping that there isn't a season long lockout in 2027 and that 1 or 2 of the players we get back in these deals hits. Alot of our young core is under contract for the foreseeable future. It's not over, sneks are just going back to sneakin.
