Amy is perfectly fine, but if they want the supporting cast to have more of their own story and lore potential like Shadow, then Blaze would be the more interesting choice. Or Rouge if they want to go into her mysterious origins. Really just depends on the kind of story they want.

Then you agree with him. Sonic is already the light to Shadow's dark, and if Silver failed to do that better to an extent that Sonic looks like somewhere in between, then Silver truly doesn't explicitly mirror them.
