I feel you anon. at this point I'd really only consider doing a pure gobbo (or other horde army) in warmaster. thousand times cheaper and easier to put together, looks like even more of a massive swarm and I can fit it in a tacklebox. happy to stick to small elite armies for 28mm.
I had a goblin army back in 6th, and I don't think it ever got 100% painted. just too much shit. too much to build, too much to paint, fucking nightmare to store and transport, too many fucking movement trays, all of it.

goblins also thematically play nice with trolls and giants so you can justify lots of that to pad points
