I give BotW a pass for being shitty in a lot of ways because at least it tried a lot of different things, even if most of them weren't that great.
TotK doesn't even try to do anything remotely different or interesting, it just brings a new gimmick without bothering to fix BotW's problems (weak story and characters, braindead combat, shitty dungeons, etc.).
