Jevil is against being a "chess board" in a game of higher entities and is obsessed with theme of freedom and chaos. He literally proves players choices do matter, ships in end game will matter and prophecy can be changed. Same goes with Spamton and breaking his puppet strings or fighting Gerson and making him believe Susie can write her own chapter of the book

Jevil is just aware that we are just chess pieces in someone's elses game and nothing matters. Chaos is the last thing that can make things unpredictable. Like random hurricane actually ending the chess game with an uknown outcome
