That was another point I kind of wish were a little more clear. Maybe I missed some dialog or something but the only hints I saw that Mari could be a bit explosive or a perfectionist was that note that said she freaked out on Kel for spilling some juice on the carpet and when someone (Hero?) said something about her quitting music for a while because she didn't think she was good enough at it. We could have used a little more to explain how that led to a full on manslaughter.

I wonder why they cut that? It would have made the ending hit much harder and gave Basil some depth and probably could have given his relationship with the others more depth as well.
