He did more than fan art, he was the main artist on the comic for a short while. Which I guess makes this "almost canon"

Ok, The Wotch starts with two friend Robin and Jason meeting this new girl called Anne Onymous, weird shit happens around this chick, and it turns out she is not only a witch but the world’s only Wotch which makes her extra special and unknow to her is destined to fight some evil villain from another world. At least that is what the lore tells you, in reality most of the stories are quite episodic and revolve around some kind of magical shenanigan that causes multiple magical transformations both on purpose and accident, with the main “plot” barely popping its head from time to time just to remind you its there. Tone wise think of Sabrina the teenage witch if by the end of each adventure half of the school is destroyed and most of the people are some flavor of hot chick, monster, inanimate object or anything in between.
Each chapter is a new adventure but among the most notable we have: Them meeting a girl who comes from a family of werewolves, having one of their friends turn into a catgirl, Anne doing that thing from Teen Titans where her personalities become different people causing havoc around the school, meeting some punk chick who accidentally summons a demon, rival warlords showing up to test their might, every person got their lives ruined by Anne’s shenanigans in the past showing up to get her at the same time and more!!!!
The strength of the comic was more situational that anything else, the character for what I remember where likeable and having them in different adventures was fun, I stopped reading the comic after a long hiatus and never bother picking up again, for what I saw the artstyle got better but no idea where the story went.
