Not at all. It's one of those movies where people memed it's "terribleness" way out of proportion. One critic said they didn't like it, then people who didn't watch it took that opinion and said it was bad, then many other non-watchers latched on and said it was horrendous because others told them so and they read it in articles. It's just Mad Max but in boats which is plenty fun and entertaining.
