It's kind of funny - for the past 6 or so years, I've been teaching myself to write in order to make a strong setting for a personal project of mine (gotta do something with all that NEET time), and while learning as much narrative shit as possible I've come to realize something: nobody can really tell me what they honestly think "good" or "deep" writing is; they can absolutely shit all over any given piece of media like it's second-nature, but no matter how much info I try to gather for my own ends it's like nobody is really capable of explaining what they think actually knocks it out of the park in terms of writing quality (in a way that isn't deliberately detached, ironic, or because whatever in-group they're in told them to think, natch).
