I got pic rel (voume 1, the left side) and I'm kind of not sure what to do with it. It comes with a red speedpaint and Vince V says they work for glazing. I'm trying to move away from washing and just using them at the end as kind of a lazy glaze to tie all my layering together.
I'm assuming you're not supposed to use them out the box and they want you to mix them right? The dark green looks good for a shadow color on orks but the rest seems to be either shadow or highlights and no midtones. I see a lot of reviews on youtube but rarely anyone putting it into heavy practice. Just kind of talking about the quality of each paint.

>travel overseas to visit family
>can only bring about 20 paints in my bags
>have lots of fun with this new puzzle aspect of painting and mixing new colors
Has anyone ever done painting where they limit themselves to a set number of paints? Kind of like those cooking shows where each chef can only use what's in a random refrigerator. I feel like it would be very fun so I have been looking into pic rel. The new AP paints have been working out well for me. I doubt any of you would buy somethign like this but I'm curious about creating my own set number of paints for a project.
If I was to buy pic rel then what I'm paying for most of the palette selection being done and formulated for me, like the "orc skin" or "zombie horde" or "ww2 pacific" paint sets that some companies market.
Also I'm not sure which of the two is best. i paint a lot of AoS Nurgle and Orcs/goblins but I also print individual minis or dabble in fun side projects from time to time.
