Hoping to run a Dwarf paladin just like back in TBC

Is there a good way to get giants to be a part of your fort? Not just roaming around walking in circles within your fort but giants that actually help with work, is able to train with the military and reproducing? You can already make armor for them I belive but it would be cool to have a small section of the fort dedicated to giants. If this can be done with DFhack without external mods in a way that works from the bottom up i.e not forcing me to individually edit every giant creature by crestue that would be amazing but I lack knowledge of the inner workings of the game. If I understand it correctly as long as the first giant and giantess are properly set then the kids should automatically join the fort. But I am not sure what "properly set" entails. I think a squad of 10 armored giants smashing elves and gobs would be a sight to see.
