Whenever I feel negative emotions, I disassociate and almost step outside of my own body and reduce the world down to a very cold, analytical, indifferent black hole and tell myself the emotion I feel isn't real, it's an illusion, my brain is manipulating me into reacting in a way that fascilitates the continued proliferation of the species. There isn't even an "I" to feel these things, even that is a trick. And I feel the anger or the sadness or the despair bleeding out of me, and then I'm calm again.
