You could not swing a dead cat without running into Homestuck in ANY nerd sphere on the entire internet during its popular tenancy (before the author started going on enormous hiatuses and delaying projects to squeeze more money out of it), 4chan included. Homestuck General completely dominated /co/ for its lifespan before enormous hiatuses were used as a reason to remove the subject from /co/ for relevancy, which later ended up extending to literally all of 4chan it was banned from, necessitating external HSG alt chans of their own. Some pokes at coming back have been taken over the years and without fail are swatted down; they're not allowed back on /co/, they're not allowed on /trash/ (one of the few times /trash/ will actually receive some kind of moderation is if they sniff out that HSG is on /trash/ in any capacity), they're not allowed on /qst/, they're not allowed on /b/. The power that HSG holds over the mods' brains is incredible, it and Katawa Shoujo General gave them a flaming hatred of anything labeled "general" and I think was one of the first cases of mods openly fucking hating posters that weren't actually breaking rules or even being particularly annoying outside of their own dedicated containment zones. If it seems like it's obsessing over one thread slot out of 100+ on a given board, that's because it is.
