So when the devs who are working directly on the game want feedback, it'll be easier for them to get it from other people who speak Japanese. There is people whose jobs it is to take the English player's feedback and send it to the Japanese developers.
But between the no-show known as Foxclon - who is the official English community rep by the way - and Kate who is operating maliciously against the English speaking community, our last line in being able to get direct feedback to the devs is to go through the Japanese players.
Either by learning Japanese ourselves (hard!) or hoping that Japanese players sentiments align with our own.

I did Jeuno yesterday. It was really fun. I said it didn't feel all that difficult and it probably caught me less than Aglaia did back in Endwalker, but the mechanics felt more fair? I liked it, and I also liked the environments. Not a FF11 player or fan, but the Arkangel area looks amazing and I'm sad it's relegated to a railroaded Alliance Raid.

I was waiting to see if 7.0 was any decent before jumping in back again, but thankfully the decision was easy to make. It feels a bit bad since I had fun playing the game, but since catching up would mean going through the travesty that are the 6.X patches, BUYING and playing an entire expansion that I don't want to play only to get to 7.3 or whenever things are fine again is something I don't want to do.
If they somehow make the entirety of 7.X optional I could see myself playing 8.0, if they put a competent writer in charge again (and only after seeing the general reaction after a couple of weeks after release), no way in hell they are doing that though. Suddenly there will never by any interest in the following expansions, even if they are a million times better than shadowbringers, since the price of entry (going through DT, or enduring rather) is something no one will do, regardless of word of mouth.

Mix of AST and PCT, you start with three empty chambers and you can load ingredients in. You start guaranteed with two single target ingredients (Lightning Marble, Blue Fang), two AoE ingredients (Fish Scale, Bomb Arm), one support ingredient (Mega Potion)
Loading an ingredient is a long GCD but otherwise they're instant shots
Fetching new ingredients is an OGCD and somewhat random, you can combine new ingredients with your initial ingredients to mod your GCDs and upgrade throughout the fight.
Say you draw a Turtle Shell, you can load that into your Mega Potion to upgrade the heal into a regen + shield. Or load it into your Bomb Arm to make it leave a lingering fire puddle.

I honestly would have tolerated Wuk Lamat existing if the expansion was just fucking this. I wanted to go on an adventure, explore unseen lands. I wanted the same feeling that ARR and Shadowbringers gave me, I wanted to be an outsider to a strange new place and learn about the history of the setting while making a name for myself. I wanted a true reset, and Venat's nonexistence was an excellent chance to do that. I wanted to explore dense forests and jungles like ShB's jungle and the ARR Black Shroud and find my way into strange ruins and remnants of a culture that doesn't exist anymore. I wanted to solve mysteries and unearth ancient treasures.

And I am livid with what we got. The worst part is, I share the exact OPPOSITE opinion of most people in that I was almost okay with the first part of the expansion because if I squinted my eyes I could almost pretend it was at least the setup to the kind of story I wanted to explore. I could believe that once the succession rite was over and we had seen the New World on a surface level, we could have a comfy adventure where we leave Wuk Lamat behind on the throne to explore after learning some secret from Gulool Ja Ja or something. And then the Alexandria shit happens and it's all just boring high tech sci-fi slop and a complete wet fart of an endgame.

I wanted so badly for this to be adventurekino but it failed me harder than anything else. It was nothing like what I wanted, and there will never even be a game resembling what I wanted in general. It makes me sick to think about. We were so close, and yet we have never been further.

I am okay with this provided it brings interesting content. ShB had a very similar setup with regards to the culture of the world being focused on in the early game, but the difference is that ShB actually had interesting and almost alien cultures that made it cool to engage with the world. DT's cultures were barely different from what we had seen in Eorzea, just with different races.

I don't even know if I will come back for a new expansion. I've never been so disappointed. The peak of the entire expansion for me was fighting Gulool Ja Ja and just aimlessly wandering the cool glowing jungles of Mamook even if the story sucked. I wanted a whole expansion of the latter, something like the ruins of Ronka in ShB.

I'm not against learning about the locals, but for me it's always have been an issue of pacing and relevancy. Like, you go outside of the zone, and in 99% of the times, the stuff you learnt doesn't matter anymore to the plot. Though, I didn't mind because the rest of the MSQ was good. For DT, I've just noticed it too quickly.
I'd like it if they shifted maybe this kind of quests to side content, and focused on something else you'd carry on through the expac.

Yeah, we got the Cenote which were kinda cool (dumping baby grounds). But the moment they showed Solution 9, I knew something was wrong. It's so big of a spoiler to show to a fanfest, and it's just... so boring. At least the Allagans kind of feel like alien technology to me. Solution 9 feels like modern era with a very slight touch of cyberpunk.

In the pit of my heart I knew that Dawntrail was going to suck from the moment they showed Solution 9. I think my problem with the conceptual part is how fucking lazily they actually delivered on its core premise. Hey, here's this miracle matter tech we've got that came from another shard thanks to super genius midgets, and it can do ANYTHING! Massive towers, lightning rods, medical systems, flying cars, giant robots, mutation tech, soul tech, compact food storage, simulation arenas, you name it!

The thing about shit like Cyberpunk is that the tech goes two ways: either it's vague enough to be mysterious because of particular purposes, or it's mundanely enhanced enough on stuff we see in day to day living that it raises the brow rather than quirks the curiosity. When you base the entirety of a futuristic super society off of a miracle matter, and this miracle matter is basically "it does anything because we code program it with levin energy we have an infinite supply of thanks to how our world blew up", you can't actually do anything more in-depth with it because there is no depth. It's miracle matter!

I can agree with this, it's also a problem I have with the Solution 9 tech. By and large, Magitek was relatively fleshed out and developed within the setting of the game thus far, with both Allag and Garlemald having the actual mechanics of their technology explored semi-often with regards to crystal power sources, how they interacted with magic, what they could do, etc. Like Dalamud being a giant aether battery powered by constant summoning, that kind of thing is super cool and makes sense within the logical confines of the setting. Electrope is just literally anything anyone wants it o be. It does everything better than aether powered Magitek in every single way and it's easier to use while being a now known quantity.

It's completely ruined any future development of technology in the setting or interest I have in the concept because the magical infinite sci-fi material exists and so any big Magitek weapon or development is going to look pathetic in comparison. Even the spaceship from EW looks like a joke now. They completely killed a core aspect of their setting in one stroke of the pen.
