Go in "Race" > "Team Trials" > in the center-right side of the screen (just side to with your points) click the "i" symbol, it will show a ranking of the current PVP champions, you can scroll and click their profile, then "Folow" them.

You can only follow 15 people at first, but going to the Shop > "Friend Point Exchange" you can buy more follower slots.
