It baffles me how a tiny soulless city state like Singapore receives something like 20 million tourists annually, while rich, historically interesting, UNESCO Heritage approved Derbent with stunning natural vistas only receive about 300 thousand annual tourism, most of them domestic. Why is humanity so inefficient? Imagine if the resources poured into the promotion of Singapore as SE Asian tourism magnet allocated into Derbent instead? It can also have the side effect of culturally elevating humanity through history instead of vapid consumerism.

1. Singapore
Undisputed number one. There are just no tourist spots. It's just a city. They should give up on tourism.
2. South Korea
It's too similar to Japan. There aren't many historical buildings, and they're underwhelming. The cities are pretty much miniature versions of Japanese ones. There's no sense of being in a foreign country.
3. Taiwan
If you're going to go here, you might as well go to China.
That's my list. Now, what's your ranking?
