The only things 'new' to UE5 they use are the Meta Humans for the player characters (which more and more devs are doing, and it sucks), and a customized software version of Lumen (mostly nVidia's work on that branch they use) to deal with the rendering for lighting changes during destruction, fire, and volumetric smoke.

At least they added Team Deathmatch last season. 5v5 in an enclosed portion of the map really shows off the destruction, where most of the map is a pile of debris by the end of the round. Decent mode for letting me practice weapons since it's pretty casual. I'm still pissed at the devs for adding a real-money-only tier to the battle pass though. The game's monetization for a f2p was very fair until two weeks ago.
