How many more seasons of Fishtank have to be ruined by Jet Neptune's half-baked, quixotic ideas that instantly kill content before he is finally replaced as showrunner? Season 2’s "Initiative Group" storyline was a disaster from day one. It resulted in unwatchable hour-long "group sessions" where producers sat the cast down like a school therapy session and tried and failed to squeeze interpersonal drama out of nothing. Instead of natural tension or compelling conflict, we got awkward silences, dead air, and contestants poorly acting to appease production.
Season 3 tried to reboot with the “Famous House 2.0” twist. Another complete failure that immediately fell apart. Jet's complete ineptitude was on full display as he explained the twist and one of the fish asked what would happen if they were all voted out. Jet clearly hadn’t even considered the possibility and gave the absolutely retarded reply that one of the new Famous 2.0 contestants would then win the grand prize. It was obvious he hadn’t thought through the basic game mechanics at all. The twist collapsed within hours and stained what could have been a solid season.
Then came Season 4’s "Facility-Z," where contestants were put in a dim basement and told to roleplay nuclear war survivors. It killed all momentum. No stakes, no tension just bored contestants wandering around a gray room eating MREs. How many more of these failed "twists" do we have to suffer through before Jet is out?
