The game makes it clear that Klaus isn't almighty God though. He's a man who found ultimate power and made a rash, short sighted decision on how to use it because he's a man. He attempted to recreate existence but an imperfect thing cannot create a prefect thing and so when his creations fell to the same vices as his predecessors, he lost hope and consigned himself and his creations to death. Pyra has no hope. Jin has no hope. The Architect has no hope. Most of Alrest is realizing that there is no hope. Rex came to the razor's edge of losing hope but was supported by his friend. And Malos's shitty fatalistic worldview was founded and supported by Amalthus's shitty fatalistic worldview and the belief that obviously suffering is what god wants for man because if he didn't then he would change it.
>about defeating God on top of that
This trope doesn't even happen in game. Klaus gives Rex his full support and Rex comes to an understanding with him. If anything the game is about defeating Lucifer. With one of trinity of archangels at that. Did you even play this game?

So a missed opportunity I see involves Claude. Shocker I know. Claude's core belief is that cultural differences shouldn't equate to cultural walls. And that it's possible for many different people to coexist without the concept of borders forcing a separation.
Now put all the inevitable OPEN BORDERS REEEE ALMYRIGGERS aside for a second and think about the Agarthans and Fodlan's History.
>In the land of Thinis, where the old gods are said to live, the False God has awakened. Its looming, heteromorphic vessel was resurrected to sink the world to the depths of the ocean. It will bring extinction to all children of men, and salvation to all beasts of the land, sky, and sea. For the children of men who spilled too much of the blood of life, it promises only cruel retribution.
Old Gods? What Old Gods? Who were they? No one knows. Because when Sothis landed on Fodlan, all culture that predated her was erased. Fodlan culture didn't blend with Sothis and her children, it was erased. And he Agarthans were infuriated by that. Even with the Slitherers being evil cartoons, no one ever addresses this. Claude's route is all about this one thing and no one talks about it. Instead we got memes and the CEO OF RACISM. Nemesis doesn't give a fuck about race. He wants power and he didn't care how he got it. What the fuck?
