>My friends keep calling me a secretive liar because I didn’t tell them I was dating someone
I'm going to assume that this isn't just playful rubbing on their part.
It depends on how long you kept it to yourself but you were probably a little secretive with your private business. That's fine.
Calling you a liar is only valid if you actually lied. A lie of omission only applies if there is an obligation to divulge the information. They might *feel* they have a right to know. It is an important aspect of their friend's life after all. But the fact is that they have no right to your relationship status.
Calling you a secretive liar once seems uncalled for. But friends can be jerks sometimes. Continually calling you that when you clearly don't appreciate it is not the behavior of actual friends.
>it’s just making me want to tell them less
It should make you want to find better friends.
