Over time 600series earpads get compressed longtitudinally which makes them sound dark and veiled
You just need to remove the earpads and carefully heat up with the heat fan the soft part while stretching them with your hand in the longtitudinal direction restoring their original shape (preferably in a gardening glove to avoid burns)
Afterwards you can enjoy the new pad sound without buying anything
this can be done 3-4 times before they disintegrate beyond salvation and actually need a proper replacement
