I don't think we should take what ERAM says at face value. They want to see Kris get fired up. They very well may be conflating Kris' enjoyment of violence and scary stuff with them enjoying Weird Route when that's not true at all.

I saw a discussion about the Weird Route being different than Genocide that really stuck with me.
With Genocide, we're breaking our immersion. It's long periods of tedious grinding that we wouldn't do if not for just wanting to see the super hard boss fights and how the characters react to us being a psycho. We cut ourselves off of the story and the world and destroy it all to see it squirm.
Weird Route is different. We're not breaking our immersion, we're trying to drown in it. We want to see our choices matter and our actions to have an affect on the story. We're inserting ourselves into the plotline as hard as possible, with complete disregard to the feelings of anyone else in the game. The path for it isn't that tedious or difficult once you know the steps, it's just exhilarating as you get to see your hold over the narrative grow through Chapter 2 until you get a whole different final boss for all that PROCEED'ing.
