I take offense with how JP sites categorize decks. Especially since a lot of the time they seem to categorize midrange/control based off of the deck's mana curve instead of how the decks behave.
>Aggro
Aggressively pushes face. Hopes to score lethal before they can run out of steam.
>Midrange
Fights a value war with cards that efficiently establish control over the board while generating card advantage/virtual card advantage. Wins by eventually overwhelming the opponent with the value.
>Control
Has some kind of win condition that can essentially win the match on its own. The rest of the deck is focused on just avoiding losing until their win condition can do its thing.
>Combo
Aggro's weird twin. They have a combination of cards that just wins the game on the spot. They aggressively try to setup the combo before the opponent can kill them.

Where people get confused is that a combo can be a wincon for a control deck. To label it you need to observe how the deck behaves. Is it setup more around setting up the combo as fast as possible, or is it just stalling until it finds the combo? The win condition for Spellboost is DClimb. 20+pp worth of bullshit is often enough to win. The fact that Satan can hard combo an opponent from 20HP is just the cherry on top.

Sword is bullshit since it's sitting there being a jack of all trades do-everything pile of goodstuff. At its core it's mostly a midrange deck thanks to Gildaria's free Sevos, its abundance of rush cards that let it make evo-less power plays, and multitude of follower spammers vomitting virtual card advantage all over the place. The insulting bit is that the low end of their curve can match aggro blow for blow, but Albert and Yurius are win conditions that stand equivalent to what most control decks want to to build around. It's just doing a bit of everything, and many of its cards provide competitive value at multiple points on the curve due to by far having the best enhance effects.
