I've been chasing true love my entire life, only ever found it even briefly in very far away people... the biggest thing I've learned is that most people seemingly do not want anywhere near that level of commitment and thus connection.
Wanting a connection that deep, desiring a frankly codependent level of love... well, normal people see it as a disorder and even most internet people don't understand any more either.
I wonder if it's a modern thing, a first world thing, some sort of capitalist hyperindividualist thing... some potent desire to be fully independent, even in romantic relationships... it's very counter to the idea of romantic relationships and indeed marriage, a fundamental intertwining of two souls
my future wife must need me in order to breathe as much as I need her for my heart to continue beating each day
