TO, flaws and all, is pretty much the peak of the genre. Going forward you're going to keep running into "damn this is almost great but why did they throw in all that dumb bullshit" just with fewer highs

I came to the same conclusion but people swear by fft. TO is a thoroughly more robust and interesting game even if each version has some annoying flaw(s)
